The Pursuit Of A Treasure

The Pursuit Of A Treasure

A treasure is something valuable such as gold that is hidden or kept in a safe place. It is an important thing to pursue. Something you will not want to miss for whatever reason. After Pursuit Of A Treasure, you will keep the treasure in a safe. Place where nobody will have an access to it. Many spend lot of money to get it. They keep it in a safe place where no one will temper with it.

The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure a man discovered in a field. In his excitement, he sold everything he owned to get enough money to buy the field-and get the treasure, too! (Matt 13:44 TLB)

Pursuit Of A Treasure

Jesus describe the Kingdom of Heaven like a treasure hidden in a field. That a man who discover it will want to sale all he had just to purchase it. That shows how valuable this treasure is to the man. He values it over all his property. Any man who risk all he has just to get this treasure, will recover all his properties in an exceeding abundance.

But seek (w aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (x His way of doing and being right), and then all these things y taken together will be given you besides. (Matt 6:33 AMP)

  • the first step of the Pursuit Of A Treasure is to discover the field where the treasure is hidden.

Before a man can extract any precious material on the surface of the earth, He has to discover where to get such a material. There is a specific location where you can find it. In like manner, the Kingdom of heaven is available for those who seek to find it. There is a way that lead to this kingdom.

But the gate is narrow contracted by pressure and the way is straitened and compressed that leads away to life, and few are those who find it. (Matt 7:14 AMP)

  • the second step is to know the way that leads to the Kingdom.

Proverbs 16:25. “There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death”. There are many religion and practice in this world. But there is only one way that leads to the Kingdom heaven. There are so many ways that seems right to a man. He follows his religion whole heartedly but it end is destruction. You need to discovered the only way that leads to the field.

Every man that believes in life after death irrespective of religion believes that one day, he or she will see the kingdom of heaven. But the question is this: have you discover the way that lead to the field? The Kingdom of heaven is Gods own dwelling place. It is where the throne of God is. And there is only one way that leads to it. Any other way aside this will leads to destruction.

Jesus said unto his disciples in John 14:7, “I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except by (through) Me”.

  • fourth step. Deliberate effort to know him

If Jesus is the only way that leads to the Kingdom of heaven, it means that for you to start your journey, you need to take deliberate effort to know Him. Having information and knowledge about Jesus is not the same with knowing Jesus. It is possible that through knowledge one may know about Jesus. You may know his nature and attribute and yet not know his personality. To know the way is to have a personal contact with the way. To know Jesus personally is not the same with having knowledge about him. You need to establish a personal relationship with Him. (check the article: building personal relationship with Christ.

  • Fifth step: know who is qualified to walk on this way:

and a highway shall be there, and a way; and it shall be called the Holy Way. The unclean shall not pass over it, but it shall be for the redeemed; the wayfaring men, yes, the simple ones and fools, shall not err in it and lose their way. 9 No lion shall be there, nor shall any ravenous beast come up on it; they shall not be found there. But the redeemed shall walk on it. (Isaiah 35:8-9)

.Other a ways that lead to destruction is broad. Many will prefer them because a lot of effort is not required to remain in them. It is a road that wide enough to allow you move together with cultural, social and spiritual practice that are not of the Kingdom. But this road that lead to the Kingdom is narrow. Luke 13:24: Strive to enter by the narrow door [force yourselves through it], for many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able.

HEB 12:1-3

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfected of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
