The insatiable desire in the heart of the devil

The insatiable desire in the heart of the devil

There is an insatiable desire in the heart of the devil. It is what make the devil restless. All the strategies of the devil since time ages, even to the present and beyond is to fulfill a particular desire. It is an insatiable desire in the heart of the devil. It all started from the beginning of creation when God said “let us (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) make mankind in our own image after our likeness and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birth of the air, the beast and over all of the earth and over everything that creeps upon the earth”.

When God created man, he created Him in His image and Likeness. God created all things including the immortal beings like angels, but known of his creation carries His image and Likeness apart from man. And when He place man in the garden of Eden, He gave him authority over everything. He created man to be like a replication of Himself. Man was to be representing God on earth. That is why He created him in His image and likeness and then gave Him authority over all things.

The insatiable desire in the heart of the devil arouse out envy.

The insatiable desire in the heart of the devil arouse out of envy. The devil envy man and His relationship with God. God relate with man more than any of his creations. The devil then began to strategize means to break that relationship. It seems like this was the first goal of the devil after fallen from grace. The insatiable desire in the heart of the devil from the very beginning was the glory that God place on man, the Glory of the image and likeness of God. This make the devil restless.

The desire of the devil is to have you. The devil is inextinguishable when it comes to the desire for man. He has through time ages developed several strategies to deprived man of what he carries. The devil can go to whatever length just to make sure that he has empty a man of the glory that was bestowed on him. That is why Jesus said in John 10:10 that “the thief (the Devil) comes only to rob, kill and destroy”. The devil is not interested in other creation of God aside from man. Man is the central of attention. The devil is not even after the angels; he is after man. He does all things to have man. It is an insatiable desire in the heart of the devil.

The state of man on earth

The state of man on earth is either free or under the ownership of the devil. The Good news is that Jesus has come so that all men will be free. The devil is always goof in setting up traps.

You can recall that immediately after the baptism of Jesus and the heavenly announcement that “this is my beloved Son, listen to Him”. He was lead to the wilderness where he fasted for forty days and night. The devil knows that Jesus may probably be hungry after fasting for such a long period. He came to tempt Jesus saying “if you are the Son Of God, turn this stone to become bread”. It was a trap. If it was in our time today, we would have fall in to the trap probably trying to proof out that we are anointed for signs and wonders.

The devils trap may not always look like a sin. Nobody will set a trap in a way that the set target will be aware of it. The devil strategies is not to make you aware that there is a trap. His strategies is to trap you, if you are not watchful enough, you will fall into the trap of the devil. That is why the Bible worn us to be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind)  be vigilant and cautious at all time; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring in fierce anger, seeking someone to seize upon and devour. Withstand Him, be firm in faith against his onset-rooted established, strong, immovable and determined, knowing that the same suffering are appointed to your brothers ( the whole Body of Christians) throughout the world (1peter 5:8-9).
