Submitting to the Lordship of Christ

The Lordship of Christthe Lordship of Christ

It is one thing to know Christ as Lord and it is another thing to the submit to the Lordship of Christ. Satan always fight against submission to Christ lordship. This is very reason why so many did not believe in his Lordship. Those that understood the Lordship of Christ are not submitting to His Lordship. Satan stated this fight right from the garden of Eden. But before the scenario of the garden of Eden, he was cast down to the earth. The reason was because he attempts to raise a lordship for himself to be above God. And God pronounce his eternal condemnation. Till today the earnest desire of Satan is that he want all creation to submit to his lordship.

Satan having known that God has created man to submit to the Lordship of Christ. He plans to deceive man from obeying the Lordship of Christ. This is an ongoing battle to this day. The heart of men is occupying with the care of the world and the deceitfulness of riches, lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and pride of life. (1john 2:15-17). The devil is using so many things today to compete with the Lordship of Jesus in the heart of men. Before you continue reading, permit me to ask you this question; what is that thing that compete with the Lordship of Jesus in your heart.

The Lordship of Jesus Christ is one of the most important aspect of the Christian life.

You must learn to submit to him personally and in all areas of your life. Jesus is Lord not just on Sunday but every day. Every breath and every thought you take, 24/7 365 days a year and for the rest of your life. No vocation, it is about who really owns your life.

Submitting to the Lordship of Christ is given back to God the control of your life so He can use you to accomplish and fulfill His will through Christ. A Christian can only grow in his Christian faith when he/she learn to know Jesus and make Him Lord of his/her life.

If Jesus is Lord over your life, then you will trust Him with your life. He said it in Mathew 7:22. Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, (amp) but he who does the will of My Father Who is in heaven.  Knowing the correct password — saying ‘Master, Master,’ for instance — isn’t going to get you anywhere with me. What is required is serious obedience — doing what my Father wills. (the message)

  1. To summit to the Lordship of Christ means to deliberately not live your life for yourself but to allow Christ to live in you

(Gal 2:20)  I have been crucified with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me. (AMP)

For apostle Paul, it was also a deliberate choice he took. He said I have been crucified with Christ. It Is no longer I who live but Christ in me and the life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the son of God, who love me and gave himself up for me.

To crucify the flesh has to do with nailing the flesh on the cross. It is not an easy experience to nail the flesh but it is the only way of dethroning flesh from the lordship of our life and to enthrone Christ. Nailing the flesh means even though the flesh wants you to walk against the Lordship Christ, you have chosen to subject yourself under the Lordship of Christ. no matter how painful it is, you have chosen to nail your desires.

When the flesh wants you to tell lies or to fornicate, as strong as the desires to commit sin comes to you. You have a chose to nail that strong desire. Nailing means it is better to shade you blood than to commit sin. Hebrews 12:4: you have not yet struggled and fought agonizingly against sin, nor have you yet resisted and withstood to the point of pouring out your [own] blood.

It is better to shade your blood than to fail the lordship of Christ. That is true submission to His Lordship.

  1. Submitting to the Lordship of Christ presenting your body as living sacrifice Holy and acceptable before God. (Rom 12:2) Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God — this is your spiritual aact of worship.

For your body to be a sacrifice, it means that you have presented yourself on the altar of the Lord Jesus Christ as a sacrifice. The owner of the sacrifice will determine what you will do with sacrifice. It is giving your own life as a sacrifice that is alive to live for Christ.

  1. Submitting to Lordship means knowing how to control and manage your own body in all purity in other to bring Glory to his name. (1 Thess 4:4) That each one of you should know how to kpossess (control, manage) his own l body in consecration (purity, separated from things profane) and honor,

  2. Submitting to the Lordship of Christ has to do with personal effort and application in exercising your faith to produce quality that will make you fruitful. (2 Peter 1:5-8) or this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7 and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. 8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

“Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?

You are either on the Lord side or on the Satan’s side. Evaluate yourself today and see whether he is Lord over your life. Luke 6:46 “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?

Dear reader, is Jesus still asking you today. Why do you call me Lord and you do not practice what I tell you to do? He is simply saying, I am not your Lord if you don’t live in accordance to my word. Is Jesus Lord over your life.

“Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?

Luke 6:47-49 I will show you what he is like who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice. 48 He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built.
