Every day can be an exciting adventure for the Christian, a christian who knows the reality of being filled with the Holy Spirit. He who lives constantly, moment by moment, under His gracious direction. Many churches are empty, dry, and void of spiritual life because they have lost touch with the dynamic presence and power of the Holy Spirit. Hence the need to understand the Steps To Been Filled With the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit played an important role in the life and ministry of the early church. It is impossible to understand the explosive growth of the New Testament church without understanding the important role of the Holy Spirit in the church.
For much of church history the third Person of the Trinity has been virtually overlooked. However, today many people are hungry to experience the Holy Spirit in their life. God has given us the marvelous gift of His Holy Spirit.
The Spirit plays an important role in personal salvation, church formation, and the general spread of the gospel. Without Him, it is impossible for individuals or the church to experience revival.
The doctrine of the Holy Spirit has a distinct contribution to make in the contemporary church. Great men and women of the faith have done extraordinary things when they where anointed by the power of the Holy Ghost. This leads us to the question, is the Holy Spirit still active today? Does He still anoint people who seek Him? The answer is yes!
Christ is our example.
Before Jesus could begin His earthly ministry, He had to be baptized in the Holy Spirit. as He was baptized by John in the Jordan River (Matthew 3:16). Before the disciples could begin their ministry, they had to be baptized in the Holy Spirit. This is what happened on the day of Pentecost. Should we then think it strange that we also need this baptism
By faith, you can trust God right now to fill you.
We are filled with the Holy Spirit by faith. How did you become a Christian? By faith. “It is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast.” “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him.”
You receive Christ by faith. You live by faith. Everything you receive from God, from the moment of your spiritual birth until you die, is by faith. Do you want to be filled with the Holy Spirit? Then take the prayer below through faith.
Dear Father, I need You. I hunger and thirst for a more vital relationship with You. I admit that I have been in control of my life. As a result, I have sinned against You.
“Thank You for forgiving my sins through Christ’s death on the cross for me. I now confess and turn from my sins and surrender the control of my life to the Lord Jesus. By faith I invite You to fill me with the Holy Spirit. You promised to fill me if I ask according to Your will. I pray this in the authority of the name of Jesus Christ. Thank You for filling me with Your Holy Spirit and for taking control of my life. Amen.”
Now, if you sincerely prayed that prayer, it means you are already filled with the Holy Spirit. You will begin to experience a greater love for God. Desire to spend time with Him in studying His Word and in prayer. You will want to trust and obey God and His Word. Share your love for Christ with others who do not know Him.
