Praising God In Your Night Season

Praising God In Your Night Season

God is interested and wants us to praise and worship Him at all times. Praising God is not just a job to be done when things are convenient. offering praises to God is a duty God demands from all of us. He wants us to praise and to worship Him in the morning, afternoon, evening and at night. Every season is an opportunity to praise God. This is because the seasons God created are not to crush and harm us.

God Created us to Praise Him

“You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power. For you created all things, and they exist because you created what you pleased.” Rev 4:11(NLT)

You and me were created to primarily give God pleasure and praise. He is worthy of our praise at all the times. Praise and worship is not primarily about ourselves first. We are not the focus nor the object and subject of praise. God is the One that is the reason for every praise and for every worship. Even the angels and the heavenly beings bow before Him and declare His holiness and majesty as we can see in Isaiah 6:2-3

“Attending him were mighty seraphim, each having six wings. With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they flew. They were calling out to each other, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of Heaven’s Armies! The whole earth is filled with his glory!”

Praise and worship are very serious and most important business in heaven and we are all going to be part of that angelic choir to worship God eternally. Every praise we give to God here is like a rehearsal of what we will do in heaven. And God delights and accepts the praises of His people.

Praise God at all Times

God wants us to praise and worship Him at all times, in every situation and location.

Ps 34:1(NLT) says “I will praise the Lord at all times. I will constantly speak his praises. Praising God is a choice that you must make. A choice to find every reason out of every season to praise God. It is a decision you must make to consciously lift up your hands towards God in worship-surrender despite all odds. It is a choice that puts God above every situation you go through in life. Praising Him at all times exalts God over your challenges. This choice also shows you still trust God and believe in His sovereignty that will surely prevail over your circumstances. Praising God at all times is a manifestation of your faith in God despite the obstacles in and around you. it is a choice that makes your faith to break through every vail and barricade ahead of you.

Praising God at all times especially good times show your gratitude in God’s faithfulness. It is an acknowledgement that your promotion, break through and accomplishments are not accidental or mere luck but a divine manifestations and fulfillments of God’s will over your life through His mercies. It is a show of appreciation to God and a promise to honour Him for who He is and not just for what He has done.

Praise Him even in the Night

“Oh, praise the Lord, all you servants of the Lord, you who serve at night in the house of the Lord. Lift up holy hands in prayer, and praise the Lord” Psalms 134:1-2(NLT).

It is easier and convenient to praise God in the day time than night time. You may be more alert and active to sing, dance jump and even shout in the day time than in the night. However, all servants of the Lord (priests) who are to praise Him in the day time(shift) must still praise Him if they are on night duty(shift).  This is duty and an obligation for each and every one of us that call on the name of the Lord. Your night season in life must not stop you from praising God.

It is easier to praise God when things are going well. more convenient and fitting if you praise God when things are moving fine as you expect. It is easier to worship, praise and testify when you are not going through persecution and a trial of your faith. You will agree with me when you listen to the testimonies on the pulpits and even televisions in our generation. People praise God for new cars, promotions, new contracts, marriages, new houses, many other wonderful things.  Friends, it is very tough to say “God, I praise You even in the midst of the storm I am going through right now”. It is very difficult to praise God when you go through disappointments and disapprovals.

Beloved, I do not know the night experience you are going through in life. I do not know how dreary and how long your night has lasted. Our night seasons may differ depending on your situations and challenges. May be you are not yet married as a single and that is your night situation as you do not know when, how, when and even who to marry yet. And you might have gone through a lot of challenging and difficult relationships before. Is it a night of loss of your loved ones, lack of jobs, sickness, financial challenges? Other people are going through the night of depression, anger, fear, uncertainty. May be yours is a night of abuse you went through as a child. Whatever might be your night season, I would like you to know that you can find a reason to praise God.

God wants to get praise out of your night season. Praise Him right in the midst of the storm. Do not wait until the storm is over before your praise will reach Him. You can also decide to praise and worship God right in the midst of whatever night and dark situation you are in right now. You can decide that your heart, hands and mouth must not be cast down. Just lift them up before God right in this night season and give Him Praise. May your night season not rob you of your duty before your creator.

Prison Praises

Though in prison, Paul and Silas did not allow their spirits, hearts, hands and mouth to be imprisoned. The Bible says in Acts 16:25-27 “Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening. Suddenly, there was a massive earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations. All the doors immediately flew open, and the chains of every prisoner fell off!”

Hallelujah! Paul and Silas did not keep quiet even in chains. They were not crying, weeping and blaming God for allowing them to enter into the prison even though they were preaching the gospel. Paul  and Silas lifted up their hearts, hands and voices towards heaven and praised God right in the midnight in that dark prison to the listening of other prisoners. They did not wait till they were released before they would praise God.  Their faith in God was not chained even though they were chained. No wonder God came to their rescue right there in the midnight. Beloved, God wants to show Himself right now in your imprisonment. You can find a reason to praise and worship Him even in your present predicament.

Joy breaking forth in the Morning.

Praise God even in your night season because your morning will soon break forth. Hallelujah! Praise God because your night is for a season no matter dark it is. The Bible says “For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning”. Psalms 30:5(KJV).

Your weeping may just endure but it will not last forever! Do not give up because your morning season will soon breakforth.

Therefore, do not lose hope, as you are going through your night season. Keep hope alive as you praise God knowing that the morning light will soon break forth. God created and has control over everything including night. He has control over the night and shall surely bring it to an end so that the morning sun shall arise with healing in its wings. Darkness does not survive His light. In the beginning, the deepest darkness over the entire earth could not stand as He release forth His light as He declared “let there be light”. God did not struggle to chase the darkness away at all. He simply declared “and there was light”

Beloved, no matter how dark your situation at the moment is, I would like to assure you that God’s light shall surely shine over it. I am confident because the Bibles says “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it” John 1:5.   No amount of darkness can withstand this light of God which is Jesus Christ. Even if your night is caused because of sin, Jesus can shine forth His light and you shall be set free completely. You can overcome any kind of darkness and have a reason to worship God.

Praises from Within out

God does not only desire that we praise and worship Him with our mouth only, He desires praises from within our hearts. You can’t give God an acceptable praise with your mouth when your heart is far away from Him. God cannot accept your praise no matter how beautiful it is if you have not received Jesus into your heart. He needs your heart first beloved! If your life does not live continually for His glory and praise, your voice will be an abomination to Him.

Please, give Him your heart if you have not done so. Make Jesus the Lord of your life by believing in Him. John 1:12 says “But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God” Give Jesus complete ownership of your life. maybe you have backslidden, and you are only living in the shadow of the past, God wants praise you continually not just in the past.  But if you are still standing strong in the Lord, please, praise God both in the day and night times. May praises not cease from your life in Jesus name! Hallelujah!!!
