The Most-wicked Women

At the window of my house I looked out through the lattice, said the the mostwicked woman. I saw among the simple, I noticed among the young men, a youth who lacked judgment. He was going down the street near her corner, walking along in the direction of her house at twilight, as the day was fading, as the dark of night set in. Then out came a the mostwicked woman to meet him, dressed like a prostitute and with crafty intent. (She is loud and defiant, her feet never stay at home; now in the street, now in the squares, at every corner she lurks.)

She took hold of him

She, the mostwicked woman took hold of him and kissed him and with a brazen face she said: “I have fellowship offerings at home; today I fulfilled my vows. So, I came out to meet you; I looked for you and have found you! I have covered my bed with colored linens from Egypt. I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes and cinnamon. Come,

With persuasive words she (the mostwicked woman) led him astray

let’s drink deep of love till morning; let’s enjoy ourselves with love! My husband is not at home; he has gone on a long journey. He took his purse filled with money and will not be home till full moon, said the mostwicked woman”she seduced him with her smooth talk. All at once he followed her like an ox going to the slaughter, like a deer stepping into a noose till an arrow pierces his liver, like a bird darting into a snare, little knowing it will cost him his life. Now then, my sons, listen to me; pay attention to what I say. Do not let your heart turn to her ways or stray into her paths. Many are the victims she has brought down; her slain are a mighty throng. Her house is a highway to the grave, leading down to the chambers of death (Prov. 7:6-27).

Alongside other wicked women in the Bible would have to be Potiphar’s unnamed wife. She didn’t care if she sinned against God or her husband. This woman was wicked to the core. All she wanted was well-built and handsome Joseph to gratify her sinful desires and she wasn’t even shy about it in the least! She flatly started off by bluntly telling him come to bed with me! How the devil will use people we come into contact with, to defile us, if possible. (Sooner or later, for many, a person like that evil woman, who might be more subtle, will try to seduce you.)

Spiritual Guard

Christians MUST stay on our spiritual GUARD at all times. We are in a spiritual war! Sexual temptation can be powerful. It all started when Potiphar gave Joseph the complete administrative responsibility over everything he owned. He hadn’t a worry in the world with Joseph there, except to decide what he wanted to eat! Joseph, by the way, was a very handsome young man.

Potiphar’s wife (one of the mostwicked woman) began making eyes at Joseph,

One day at about this time Potiphar’s wife began making eyes at Joseph, and suggested that he come and sleep with her.  Joseph refused. “Look,” he told her, “my master trusts me with everything in the entire household; he himself has no more authority here than I have! He has held back nothing from me except you yourself because you are his wife. How can I do such a wicked thing as this? It would be a great sin against God.”  But she kept on with her suggestion’s day after day, even though he refused to listen, and kept out of her way as much as possible.

joseph fled

One day as he was in the house going about his work-as it happened, no one else was around at the time- she came and grabbed him by the sleeve demanding, “Sleep with me.” He tore himself away, but as he did, his jacket slipped off and she was left holding it as he fled from the house.

Allegation Against Joseph

When she saw that she had his jacket, and that he had fled, she began screaming; and when the other men around the place came running in to see what had happened, she was crying hysterically. “My husband had to bring in this Hebrew slave to insult us!” she sobbed. “He tried to rape me, but when I screamed, he ran, and forgot to take his jacket.” She kept the jacket, and when her husband came home that night, she told him her story. “That Hebrew slave you’ve had around here tried to rape me, and I was only saved by my screams. He fled, leaving his jacket behind!”. this can only be the mostwicked woman

The Lord Was  With Joseph

When her husband heard his wife’s story, he was furious. He threw Joseph into prison, where the king’s prisoners were kept in chains. But the Lord was with Joseph there, too, and was kind to him by granting him favor with the chief jailer. In fact, the jailer soon handed over the entire prison administration to Joseph, so that all the other prisoners were responsible to him. The chief jailer had no more worries after that, for Joseph took care of everything, and the Lord was with him so that everything ran smoothly and well. (Gen 39:6-23)

Flee from sexual immorality

In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood (Heb. 12:4). Paul wrote specifically and told Christian what they need to flee: Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. (1 Cor. 6:18) Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. (2 Tim. 2:22) According to these verses, the Christian is to flee from: sexual immorality, idolatry, the love of money and the evil desires of youth. NOTE: Joseph obeyed both 1 Cor. 6:18 and 2 Tim. 2:22 before they were written down as Scripture!
