Members Of Gods Family
Whose child are you? You are member of your own family because you are born a child in the family. no one become a child without being born a child. The only entrance into the family of God is to be born into the family which is by the miracle of a spiritual birth. Membership into Gods family is not something that you inherit. That you are born in a Christian family does not make you members of Gods family. You cannot inherit spiritual grace from your parents.
The only entrance is to be part of the members of God family is to be born into Gods Family. You cannot be born into this family by self-determination or self-effort, no amount of resolution or decision on your part will make you member of Gods family for it is not the will of the flesh. It is not angels that will accredit you as a member of this family. It is God work and his alone to make you a child in his family.
We are born by a supernatural act of God.
they were not God’s children by nature or because of any human desires. God himself was the one who made them his children. (John 1:13: CEV)
Who owe their birth neither to c bloods nor to the will of the flesh [that of physical impulse] nor to the will of man [that of a natural father], but to God. [They are born of God!] (John 1:13 AMP)
We do not become children of God (born-again) through natural descent (blood), that your parent are Gods children and they gave birth to you does not make you a child of God, it is not inherited blood. It not the will of the flesh nor the will of a man.
The children Born into Gods Family
To be born into Gods Family, he has given us a condition to meet in other for the supernatural act of God of making us member of his family will take place. This condition is found in John 1:12.
But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name — (John 1:12 AMP)
But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. (John 1:12-13 NLT)
The conditions according to the passage above is that;
- You must receive and welcome him
- You must believe in his name
When anyone believe and receive him, God constitute him as his own child, he has given you the right to be call his own child.
Receiving and believing is not a theoretical experience, it has to be from the heart. There are six evidences or marks of a person that is truly a member of Gods family.
Believed that Jesus is the messiah (1john 5:1)
Living a life of right doing:
since we know that Christ is righteous, we also know that all who do what is right are God’s children. (1 John 2:29)
Does not habitually practice or live in sin:
those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning, because God’s life* is in them. So they can’t keep on sinning, because they are children of God. 10 So now we can tell who are children of God and who are children of the devil. Anyone who does not live righteously and does not love other believers* does not belong to God. (1 John 3:9-10)
We know that God’s children do not make a practice of sinning, for God’s Son holds them securely, and the evil one cannot touch them. 19 We know that we are children of God and that the world around us is under the control of the evil one. (1 John 5:18-19)
He overcomes temptation:
for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. 5 Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. (1 John 5:4-5)
A child of God Has Love for others
Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. (1 John 4:7-8)
Keep himself pure.
See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know him. 2 Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is. 3 And all who have this eager expectation will keep themselves pure, just as he is pure. (1 John 3:1-3)
