what is the purpose of Music? If the purpose of a thing is not known, then abuse is inevitable. In the same way, if the purpose of Music is not Known then abuse is inevitable. Music like any other gift can be abused, misused and used wrongly. Music is the Bible is connected to worship, weeding, funerals, and war by both the Jews and the gentiles. God gave us music as a gift to direct our attention to him. Music is also a pattern of communication to God and also among brethren. Listening To Music For Gods Glory is the christian faith.

(Eph 5:19-20) Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord) He created music primarily for the purpose of worship, even before the creation of the earth Angels are using Music for the purpose of worship.

 Lucifer is a fallen angel who was the head of the ministry of music in Heaven. When he was in heaven, It has been said of him he was the most beautiful of ALL angels. He was the director of the flow of music there (Praise and Worship).

several scriptural references throughout the bible the denote his previous authority over music when he was in heaven. One is Isa.14:11 – “Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.”The noise of thy viols indicates the stringed instruments he had charge over. But yes, actually throughout the bible, the books of Ezekiel, Job, Isaiah, even Psalms upon speaking of his past life… It tells us he was the minister of music there. Of course he no longer is now.

So it is obvious that Lucifer, at the very least, contained something akin to musical instruments. The tambourine, the flute, and the harp all within the confines of his own body. Since Lucifer is a created being, he was originally created with instruments to provide beautiful music for none other than the glorification of God. Satan will go to whatever length to see that Music is abused.

The Abuse of Music Amplifies The Deceptive Voices Of The World

those who make Music today, artist, record companies, marketers are not primarily interested in caring for our souls or helping us avoid worldliness.  Just as people can write Music to communicate Sin, we can listen to Music to feed sin. Music amplifies the deceptive voices of the World. Listening to Music is never neutral because our sinful heart is involved (James 1:14-15). listening to Music without discernment and Godly intent reveals a heart that willing to flirt with the world.     

The Content Of Music

What then should be the content of the music that a christian should listen to? Whatever a person allow to occupy his mind will eventually determine his speech and actions. Your heard is feed by what you hear, read and see. If we listen regularly to ungodly lyrics, its only a matter of time until we become susceptible to sin. 

Prov 4:23 Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.

 In other to guard your heart, ask yourself if the lyrics of the music you are listening to is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and or praiseworthy, then their is nothing wrong with listening to that Music. (phil 4:8, col 3:2,5). The more you spend time listening to music, the more it becomes a friend that will affect you. Is the Music you listen to a wise friend or a fool? an ongoing struggle with worldly Music shows that an individual has never been regenerated (2cor:13;5). Are you a Music artist that is abusing Music? or are you a listener that feed heart an abused pattern of Music. it is either you are glorifying God or Satan through.
