Every Christian has been invited to a life journey to a Sabbath-rest. Those invited are all equal before God. Each will be given the gift of life at the end of the journey. It is a journey that take your lifetime on earth. Every born-again child of God is a chosen seed that will have a Sabbath rest with the Lord. God did not look at your academic or theological qualification before inviting you. He did not look at your ability to preach or pray. God did not look at your physical state. He did not look at your tribe or nationality, but the important thing to note is that he has invited you to have a rest with Him. The place you are invited to is not another man’s home but the house of your father.
God has already prepared a Sabbath-Rest For You
Beloved, God has already prepared a feast for you and his invitation is for all mankind but only few deserve the invitation (Mathew 22:8). All that receive and believe in his name are his rightful children (john 1;12) Many are children of God but only few are living with eternity in view. Nobody can stop your invitation but only few are ready for the invitation.
The most important thing
You cannot go to your father’s house when you did not know the way to His house. The most important thing in a Man’s journey is to know the way. “There is a way that seems right to a man but in the end it leads to destruction, (proverbs 14:12)”. You may end up not going to heaven if your view on the journey of life is not on eternity but on earthly things. The most important thing to do on your journey is to know the only way which is Jesus that will lead you into a Sabbath-rest.
Knowing the way will take your lifetime on earth
Note that you cannot know self at the same time know the way. Knowing the way will take your lifetime on earth. Your journey can be terminated because of self (numbers 14:33-34, Jude 5, Hebrew 3:16-18). Knowing the way is not the matter of whether you are born in a Christian family or not. It is also not the matter of the church you go to, or the name of your church denomination. Knowing the way is a personal issue that has to do with your personal relationship with Christ. You may be in the same church receiving the same spiritual food, the same blessing and the same covering just as he did to the children of Israel on their journey to the promise land, and the tragedy that happens to them was that their journey was terminated at a certain point because of their unbelief, disobedient and self.
your invitation is today
So as the Holy Spirit says Today if you hear his voice do not hardened your hearts. So be it brothers that known of you has a sinful unbelieving heart, that turns away from the living God. Encourage one another daily as long as it is called today, so that known of you will be hardened by sins deceitfulness (Hebrew 3:7). We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly till the end and the confidence we had as first. (Hebrew 3:12-14). It still remains that some will enter that rest and those who formerly hard the gospel preached to them did not go in because of their disobedience. “Therefore God again set a certain day, calling it today, when a long time later he spoke through David as was said before; today if you hear his voice do not hardened your hearts (Hebrew 4:7)
Your today determines where and how you will end your journey
Your today determines where and how you will end your journey. Why not plan your today and many days that will be coming. Set your view on eternity. Don’t come with the mind of tomorrow and staying with a careless life today. Your journey will be terminated and you have nothing to do About it (Hebrews 10:26-29). It is very dangerous to live a sinful life in today. For God has not change and his standard which is righteousness should not be compromise by any one.
In conclusion, as you are now responding to your invitation by knowing the way. Keep on to the faith and have a different spirit just as Joshua and Caleb. Do it in your environment, church and School. Among friends and your Families. Hold on to it to the end, then you will have a Sabbath rest with God.
